For the bridal couple wishing to make a private commitment to each other in a romantic setting or for those sharing the special moment with up to 35 specially chosen guests (75 outdoors), the Connecticut River Valley Inn provides a perfect setting in a quintessential New England town. You choose the date - weddings can be held seven days a week.

We have designed our weddings to be lively, stress free & memorable with beautiful fresh flowers, shimmering candlelight, a delightful wedding cake & chilled sparkling juice or complimentary champagne for friends and family. The officiate and music will be provided.

Our most simple ceremony in a setting that best fits you for those who cannot spend the evening. This is a simple cost effective, intimate and romantic alternative to the town hall or Las Vegas.

A one hour ceremony which includes a sparkling juice toast in venetian glass champagne flutes and time for photos.

A perfect ending would include (extra charge) a candlelight dinner at a local restaurant and then reserve one of our available rooms if you wish

"An Intimate Affair...."

for the Bride & Groom

and up to 4 special guests.

Your wedding ceremony will take place in front of the fireplace, on the veranda or in our garden. This package is the same as "A private Affair...".

If your special guest will be staying the night as well, their room must be booked separately and will receive a 15% courtesy discount.

"A Petite Affair...." for the Bride & Groom

& up to 15 guests

Just bring your marriage license (see below for acquiring a marriage license in the State of Connecticut) and we will take care of the rest!

Hold your ceremony in front of the inn's fireplace, on the veranda, in our gardens or under our shady maple tree. This package is the same as "A Private Affair", but with enough refreshments for up to 15 special guests.

If your special guest will be staying the night as well, their room must be booked separately and will receive a 15% courtesy discount.

"A Family Affair...." for the Bride & Groom

"A Wedding Social...." for the Bride & Groom

An old fashioned cake and punch reception following your wedding ceremony. Your wedding social includes the brides bouquet using flowers in season, grooms flower, table arrangement, officiate, music, wedding cake, punch and either a sparkling juice toast or complimentary champagne toast. A 2 hour time frame is allowed for this ceremony. Fee for your wedding social will be $925.00 plus $20 for each guest over 15 guests. Outdoor event (36-75 guests) requires a tented area provided by us and extra charges apply for this.

"A Charming Affair...." for the Bride & Groom

up to 35 guests indoors & 75 guests outdoors

This wedding package includes everything in the "Wedding Social" with the addition of heavy hors d'oeuvres. The Charming Affair is an elegant, late afternoon light meal for your guests. Contact us for more information on cost and menu items.

"A Sweet Affair...." for the Bride & Groom

Enjoy a dessert reception following your ceremony. The Sweet Affair features pastries and sweets in an artistic display. The Sweet affair includes everything in the "Wedding Social". Fee for a Sweet Affair will be $925.00 plus $30 for each guest over 15 guests. Outdoor event (36-75 guests) requires a tented area provided by us and extra charges apply for this.

"An Elegant Affair...." for the Bride & Groom

Just looking for an elegant venue for your ceremony? We provide everything you need, from the flowers, to the minister, to the candlelight ceremony and seating for up to 35. (One and a half hour time block for ceremony and pictures.)

After your ceremony and reception, wave goodbye to your guests and let us pamper you. Slip away to your room, where your flowers, cake, and sparkling juice await you. Relax. Enjoy the moment. Perhaps meet up with friends and family later in the evening or just spend the rest of the evening alone as husband and wife. And in the morning, awaken to the delicious three-course, gourmet breakfast delivered directly to your room. Room price not included. Please choose from available rooms.

It's Easy to get a Connecticut Marriage License!

Notes for Bride and Groom:

The State of Connecticut does not require witness to be present for your ceremony & there is no waiting period. To obtain your marriage license, you will need: picture identification, either a license or passport, and a $30 fee in cash or check that you pay directly to the Glastonbury Town Clerk. They ask you some simple questions such as you and your parents name and place of birth, your birth date, your level or education, the number of times you have been married. Both of you must be present but not necessarily at the same time. You do not need any other documentation - it is really quite simple.

As of October 1, 2010 all couples wishing to marry must obtain your license at the Glastonbury Town Clerk's Office in Glastonbury, Ct. if you will be getting married in Glastonbury.

You have 65 days to use your marriage license

You can obtain your license on the same day as your ceremony BUT

Please be advised that the Glastonbury Town Hall is not open on Saturday, Sunday and holidays

Securing Your Wedding Date and Ceremony

We do require a non- refundable deposit of 50% of the wedding package at the time of reserving your wedding date.

The remaining balance for the wedding is due 30 days before your wedding date and there are no exceptions.

Full payment for your wedding is due at the time of your reservation if your wedding ceremony will take place 30 days or under from the date you reserved your wedding.
